PHILIPPE CHARRIOL

The Philippe Charriol brand was officially born in 1983, when the designer launched his own brand of jewelry and watches.  Charriol was born in France and began his career there.  In the beginning of his career, Charriol was not actually involved with manufacturing watches.  Instead, he began working for a company in Europe that exported wines.  After that, in 1973, Charriol moved on to work for a brand known as “Les Must de Cartier.”  After spending almost a decade with the company, Charriol decided to strike out on his own with his own brand of luxury watches and jewelry.  He launched his company simultaneously in New York, Asia, and Europe.

The Philippe Charriol Legacy

One of the distinctive characteristics of Philippe Charriol watches and jewelry is the unique “Celtic” concept, which serves as the centerpiece of the various collections.  Philippe Charriol watches all bear the influence of the Celtic culture, largely due to Charriol’s fascination with the Celtic design and history.  As a result, Philippe Charriol watches and jewelry all reflect the influence of the unique Celtic art.  Even though the Philippe Charriol brand is relatively new (particularly compared with some of the older Swiss manufacturers), it has certainly wasted no time in making a lasting impact on the world of watchmaking.  Philippe Charriol watches are now sold in the Far East, in the United States, and in Europe.  The Philippe Charriol watches and jewelry are sold in over 2,500 outlets, in addition to being present in 40 specialized Philippe Charriol boutiques.

The Philippe Charriol Collections

Currently, there are eight collections in the Philippe Charriol watch line.  The first is the La Jolla line, which is a diamond-studded timepiece with a rectangular dial and a leather strap.  The face of the watch is covered with a unique diamond design that retracts away from the dial.  However, when the cover slides into place, it makes the watch appear to be a very luxurious bracelet.  The next line of watches is the Actor Collection, which features a square dial with a leather strap.  A similar line, the Actor Dual Time Collection, also features a square dial, but one that is significantly smaller.  The Colvmbvs Collection is a sleek and elegant collection.  The dial is rectangular and the strap comes in either stainless steel or leather.  The case of watches in the Colvmbvs is outlined with diamonds.  Another popular Philippe Charriol watch collection is the Alexandre, which features a unique octagon-shaped dial and a stainless steel case.  The Darling Collection offers consumers an oval-shaped dial that is encased in diamonds, as well as either a leather or stainless steel strap.  Other Philippe Charriol watch collections include the Kucha and the Force lines.
