PIAGET

Founded by Georges Edouard Piaget in 1874, Piaget has consistently been a leader in timepiece luxury by raising the bar for creativity and detail. The company originally specialized watch movement development and production before moving on to jewelry with the launch of its first jewelry-watch collections in the 1960s. Piaget is a constant innovator of rare, precious and exceptional pieces.  Piaget watches have gained a reputation as some of the most exclusive and luxurious timepieces available.  In 1943, Piaget registered its brand name the company began to create its own watches. The first mechanical ultra-thin movement, 9P caliber, was launched in 1956, earning Piaget the distinction of “master” of ultra-thin movements. Four years later, the 12P caliber at 2.3 mm was recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records as the thinnest self-winding movement in the world.  In the early 1960s, Piaget began developing intricate jewelry watches and expanded its expertise to gold treatment and gem-setting with the acquisition of additional workshops in Geneva. The company introduced its first semi-precious stone dial watches in 1964.

The Piaget Legacy

In 1980, Piaget unveiled the most expensive men’s jewelry wristwatch of its time, valued at 5 million Swiss Francs.  A decade later, Piaget launched the Tanagra Watches and Jewelry Collection.  Following that important release, Piaget continued to impress the watch world with its 600P tourbillon caliber in 2003.  It was the thinnest tourbillon movement in the world.  From the creation of the thinnest automatic movement to the most expensive watch in the world, Piaget has continuously innovated and impressed the world with their prestigious timepieces.  In 2001, Piaget introduced its new manufacturing facility, situated right in the heart of the Swiss watchmaking empire – Geneva.  The move represented the joining of more than 40 different professionals in watchmaking and jewelry.  This has allowed Piaget to take their business to the next level of elegance and innovation.
