DUBEY & SCHALDENBRAND

The fine tradition of Dubey and Schaldenbrand watches began in 1946 in the mountains of Switzerland.  Dubey and Schaldenbrand was actually founded in the Neuchatel mountains.  After Mr. Dubey retired, Cinette Robert, the great granddaughter of Meylan-Lecoultre, a famous watchmaker, took over the reigns.  Robert was able to achieve lead the brand to success through her relationships with the local people and familiarity with what customers want in a luxury watch.  Today, Robert continues to serve as the head of Dubey and Schaldenbrand, where she personally oversees and monitors each Dubey and Schaldenbrand watch that comes out of the company.  The company is renowned for its elegance and authentic style.

The Dubey and Schaldenbrand Legacy

Even after achieving success with her line of Dubey and Schaldenbrand watches, Cinette Robert was not content and continued to explore the advances made in watchmaking.  One of the ways she helped the company continue to grow is through her quest to obtain some of the most advanced parts available.  Throughout the 1970s and the 1980s, Robert traveled and toured many of the most revolutionary watch manufacturers in an effort to purchase various watch movements and components.  Since many mechanical products at that time were being replaced as a result of the emerging quartz movement,  Robert bought even more movements to add to her collection.  By the time she was finished, Robert had amassed a collection that included over 6,000 different movements.   Using many of these parts in later years, Robert was able to create several limited editions of Dubey and Schaldenbrand watches.  After the success of these editions, Robert decided that Dubey and Schaldenbrand watches should branch out to incorporate modern elements as well.

The Dubey and Schaldenbrand Collection

In addition to the limited edition Dubey and Schaldenbrand watches that are still available (on a very rare basis), there are also many new Dubey and Schaldenbrand watches on the market today.  However, each Dubey and Schaldenbrand watch is still carefully crafted using 100 percent Swiss-made parts.  Each timepiece is also manufactured in Switzerland and features the very best in movements and parts.  One of the limited edition rarities is the Classic Vintage model, which is based on Mr. Dubey’s original design that was registered in the United States in 1947.  Another limited edition Dubey and Schaldenbrand watch is the Aerodyn Vintage, which was created in an effort to celebrate the watchmaking tradition of the 1920s and 1930s.  This unique timepiece features 90 separate movements, all hand engraved and numbered by Dubey and Schaldenbrand.  An updated version of the Aerodyn is one of the modern Dubey and Schaldenbrand watches that is on the market today.  There are several contemporary Aerodyn designs, including the Aerodyn Chronometre, the Aerodyn Date, and the Aerodyn Elegance.  Dubey and Schaldenbrand also offers a unique sports watch, known as the Aquadyn.  Other contemporary Dubey and Schaldenbrand watches include the Carre Cambre, the Coupe, the Gran’ Chrono, the Lady, the Sonnerie GMT, and the Spiral.
