PIERRE KUNZ

The tradition of luxury Pierre Kunz watches began during the middle of the 20th century.  When Pierre Kunz opened his own workshop, he had already spent 20 years honing his craft as a watchmaker.  Not only did Kunz study at the Vallee de Joux watchmaking school, he also worked in the shop of renowned watchmaker Victorin Piguet.  It was this experience that helped him hone his horological skills and eventually prompted him to launch his own line of watches.  During his time with Piguet, Kunz learned to craft several different grande complications.  The first business Kunz opened was one that specialized in antique clock restoration.  However, he soon returned to Switzerland and worked for several of the watchmaking giants situated in the heart of the Jura Valley.  He was able to launch his first designs thanks to Franck Muller, who gave Kunz a chance to create his own line of watches at Watchland Park in Genthod.

The Pierre Kunz Legacy

Ever since launching his first line of watches, Pierre Kunz has been known for creating quality and luxury timepieces.  The company specializes in crafting dials that are easy to read and incorporate several complicated movements.  The Pierre Kunz line ranges from sleek and elegant to vintage and classical.  Each is hand-crafted and innovative.  In addition, the Pierre Kunz watches feature high quality calibres that have the signature Cotes de Geneve decoration on the bridges of the timepiece.  In addition, all Pierre Kunz watches are fitted into unique Empire cases.

The Pierre Kunz Collection

There are several different collections currently offered by the Pierre Kunz watch company.  The first is the Classic line of watches, which features a vintage look that is reminsicent of the traditional Swiss watches.  The hours are classic Roman numerals and there is also a separate function that tells the seconds.  The case is available in stainless steel or gold.  The movements in all of the models are automatic and water resistant.  Pierre Kunz also offers the Complication Watch Collections.  One of the most popular models in this line is the Papillon watch, which features a unique method for consumers to read the hours and minutes.  In addition, it also offers retrograde hours and minutes display and the age of the moon.  The dial displays two retrograde zones (hours and minutes) that are turned using two separate engines.  There is also a Pierre Kunz watch collection designed specifically for women.  The line offers ladies several colorful options and features timepieces that are driven by quartz movement.  For watch owners who are looking for a blend of practicality and luxury, Pierre Kunz offers the Sport Watch Collection.  Other Pierre Kunz watch collections include Jewelry and Grande Complication.
