MAURICE LACROIX

Even though Maurice Lacroix is a relatively new watch brand, the company has wasted no time in building a collection of watches that is elegant and respected throughout the industry.  The company was founded in 1961, when the first workshop was established in Saignelegier.  However, the very first Maurice Lacroix watch wasn’t introduced until 1975, when the company unveiled its first model in Austria.  By the end of the 1980s, Maurice Lacroix watches had invaded the markets in Germany, Australia, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Great Britain.

The Maurice Lacroix Legacy

Though Maurice Lacroix watches continued to be popular on a global scale throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, it wasn’t until 1995 that the company opened its first store in the United States.  In 1990, the company launched its extremely successful Masterpiece Collection, which has remained popular since its inception.  Another big milestone occurred in 2001, when Maurice Lacroix became its own independent company.  Up until that point, the company had been a division of Desco von Schulthess AG.  Maurice Lacroix watches continue to be among the top in the market today, thanks in large part to a rigorous production process that helps to ensure the highest quality.  The first component of this process is the construction of the movements used in the Maurice Lacroix watches.  The company only uses manufacturing movements that are crafted in Switzerland, which is considered to be the hub of the global watchmaking industry.  A

Maurice Lacroix watch also undergoes a complicated process in the creation of its dial.  There are 70 different steps involved in the construction of the dial, most of which are done by hand.  As far as the case of a Maurice Lacroix watch, each one is produced by the company itself.  Many watchmakers outsource this task, but Maurice Lacroix prides itself on manufacturing its own cases.  Before a Maurice Lacroix watch is completed, it endures several tests that are designed to test its water resistance and accuracy of time.

The Maurice Lacroix Watch Collections

Maurice Lacroix currently offers six luxurious watch collections.  The first is the Masterpiece Collection.  This immensely popular series of timepieces has been in around since 1990 and has remained a favorite among consumers.  Watches in the Maurice Lacroix watch collection are known for being both luxurious and practical.  There are several variations of the Masterpiece model, including those that are designed specifically for sport purposes and models that are built especially for ladies.  Other models included in the Masterpiece Collection include the Phase de Lune, the Tourbillon Retrograde, and the Chrono Globe.  The second line of Maurice Lacroix watches is the Pontos Collection, a unique watch that specializes in its extra functions.  All models in the Pontos line feature mechanical movement.  Popular models include the Pontos Chronographe, the Pontos Day/Date, and the Pontos Rectangular Chronographe.  The third line of Maurice Lacroix watches is the Miros Collection, another of the brand’s popular lines.  Maurice Lacroix also offers the Divina, Les Classiques, and L’Atelier Collections.
